come to a sticky end
講解：sticky是形容詞，意思是“難對付的，困難的”, come to的意思是“到了”，end的意思是“結(jié)尾，結(jié)局”。所以該短語的意思是“到了一個棘手的結(jié)局”，即指：到了一個難以收場的局面。和中文中的“死于非命”意思相近。
