When he asked if Mr. Lane lived there, the policeman on duty told him that since his defeat, the ex-Prime Minister had gon
10、e abroad. On the following day, Patrick went to the house again.,,The same policeman was just walking slowly past the entrance, when Patrick asked the same question. Though a little suspicious this time, the policeman gave him the same answer. The day after, Patrick went to the house once more and a
11、sked exactly the same question. This time, the policeman lost his temper. I told you yesterday and the day before yesterday, he shouted, Mr. Lane was defeated in the elections. He has retired from political life and gone to live abroad! I know, answered Patrick, but I love to hear you say it!, The f

17、ittle suspicious this time.,讓步狀語從句,1表示“盡管,雖然”的although, though, as與while (1)although引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí),只能用正常語序; though引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí),可用正常語序,也可用倒裝語序; as引導(dǎo)讓步狀語從句時(shí)只能用倒裝語序,即從句中的表語、狀語或動(dòng)詞原形置于句首,若表語是單數(shù)名詞,前置時(shí)要省略冠詞。 I dont really like the author, although I have to admit his books are very exciting. 雖然我不得不承認(rèn)這位作家的書很精彩,但是我真
