13、f表示“許多;大量的”,相當于a large number of。a number of意為“許多……”,修飾可數(shù)名詞復數(shù)。作主語時,謂語動詞用復數(shù)形式。其中的number前可用large,small等詞修飾,表示程度。the number of意為“……的數(shù)量”,后跟復數(shù)名詞,作主語時,謂語動詞要用單數(shù)形式。
2.three-eighths意為“八分之三”。分數(shù)與名詞搭配時,之間常用介詞of,即“分數(shù) + of + 名詞”結(jié)構(gòu)。作主語時,謂語動詞的單復數(shù)根據(jù)of后面的名詞而定,如果名詞是復數(shù),謂語動詞用復數(shù)形式;如果名詞是單數(shù)或不可數(shù)名詞,謂語動詞用單數(shù)形式。
英語中分數(shù)表達法:分子是基
14、數(shù)詞,分母是序數(shù)詞,如果分子大于1,分母用復數(shù)形式,在分子與分母之間可加連字符也可不加連字符。
3.辨析especially和specially。
(1)especially是副詞,意為“尤其,特別”,通常用來對前面所述的事情進行進一步的說明或補充。
(2)specially是副詞,意為“專門地;特地”,強調(diào)唯一目的。
4.prevent作動詞,意為“防止;阻止”。prevent...from...意為“防止……做……”。
注意:prevent/stop/keep sb from doing sth,意為“阻止某人做某事”,其中keep sb from doing sth中的from不能省略,stop/prevent中的可以省略。

本課時主要以閱讀和討論為主。老師提出問題,引導學生有針對性地閱讀課文,提高了他們收集信息的能力。另外,在實際的英語教學中,老師利用其他相關學科的知識來加深學生對英語知識的掌握,并且讓學生自己總結(jié),進一步培養(yǎng)其學習和歸納能力的方法。
