二、教材分析
本模塊以家鄉(xiāng)為主題,要求學生理解、掌握本模塊中關于方位、位置等語言現(xiàn)象。本節(jié)課是一節(jié)閱讀課,本單元是整個模塊教學的第二單元。從話題上講,第一單元讓學生初步談論了有關城市的有關話題。第二單元承接了這一話題并在深度和廣度上做了進一步的延伸和擴充。通過課文教學,本課進一步談論有關城市方位、人口、特色建筑等方面內(nèi)容。從語言功能上講,本模塊訓練的是形容詞的比較級。第一單
2、元已經(jīng)對該語法功能項目進行了教授,第二單元則進行進一步的訓練和強化,鞏固第一單元所學的語法知識,同時為第三單元的綜合語言知識的復習和運用以及綜合語言能力的培養(yǎng)作好鋪墊。通過閱讀本課使學生了解有關英、美國家主要城市及建筑物等相關知識。
三、教學對象分析
本課授課對象是八年級學生,他們有著豐富的想象力和好奇心,對家鄉(xiāng)話題充滿興趣。我在預設的任務中,充分調動學生參與活動的積極性,使學生達到提高綜合運用語言能力的目的。
四、教學目標
1.語言知識目標
⑴詞匯掌握13個單詞(east, south, north, west, university,
building, chur
3、ch, million, coast, region)基本含義并學會在特定的語境中運用單詞來描述家鄉(xiāng);
⑵短語掌握 be famous for, in the south of, bigger and busier than, on the River Thames,a region of等等,并會用其描述家鄉(xiāng)。
⑶語法 能夠進一步掌握形容詞比較級,并運用比較級描述不同的城市。
2. 語言技能目標
①聽:能聽懂課文中關于家鄉(xiāng)介紹的語言表達;
②說:能依照課文所學語言表達方式,口頭簡單介紹自己的家鄉(xiāng);
③讀:能夠讀懂有關家鄉(xiāng)介紹的文章,并會獲取有用信息;
④寫:能夠模仿課文的結構

3. 學習策略
(1) 培養(yǎng)學生的閱讀能力、邏輯思維能力、發(fā)現(xiàn)細節(jié)信息理解文章的能力。
(2) 掌握家鄉(xiāng)介紹的方法。
4. 情感目標
通過閱讀擴充學生對英、美國家的了解,培養(yǎng)其對英語學習的文化底蘊及學習興趣。同時培養(yǎng)學生對自己國家、家鄉(xiāng)了解及熱愛。
5. 文化意識
了解英國、美國的主要城市、河流,開闊學生的視野。
6. 教學重點和難點
根據(jù)課程標準要求及本課在教材中所處的地位及作用,我確定本課的重、難點如下:
⑴重點:掌握家鄉(xiāng)的詞匯,并能用它們來描繪自己的家鄉(xiāng)。
⑵難點:方位介詞及形容詞比較級的靈活使用.

1. Enjoy a song about hometown
2. Warming-up: Let Ss enjoy some beautiful pictures about Dalian and lead them in the new topic “Module5 My hometown and country.”
Eg. T: Are they beautiful?
Ss: Yes, they are.
T: Where is it?
Ss: It’s Dalian.
T: Is it your hometown?
Ss: Yes, it is.
6、T: Ok ,Dalian is our hometown. I like it very much.…
[設計意圖]:本活動屬于熱身運動,通過聽音樂吸引學生的注意力,讓學生想起自己的家鄉(xiāng)和祖國的美好。再看圖片和回答問題,創(chuàng)設英語氛圍,活躍課堂氣氛,調動學生積極性,自然地將學生引入本課話題。
Step2: Revision
Help students to revise what has been learnt in Period one of this module. Show them some pictures about Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Eg:

Ss: It’s Shanghai.
T: Can you say sth about it?
Ss: Shanghai is a big city. The Bund is 1.5 kilometres long.…
T: Which city is hotter, Shanghai or Hong Kong?
Ss: Hong Kong is hotter than Shanghai.
[設計意圖]用此方式來復習上課學過計量的表示法及形容詞的比較級知識,為本課學習做好鋪墊。
