1、Module 12 Help Unit 3 Language in use 【Teaching analysis】 本模塊的任務(wù)是讓學(xué)生制作一張預(yù)防校園突發(fā)事件的海報,這是一個真實有效的任務(wù)。學(xué)生通過繪制海報,可以更多地了解與急救相關(guān)的知識,并在課堂上吸收知識學(xué)以致用。教師要引導(dǎo)學(xué)生關(guān)注海報內(nèi)容的實用性,并注重語言的簡潔性和設(shè)計的美觀性。 【Learner analysis】 初二的學(xué)生通過兩年的初中英語學(xué)習(xí),有了一定的學(xué)習(xí)基礎(chǔ),思維活躍、敢于質(zhì)疑、挑戰(zhàn)老師,表現(xiàn)欲強、思維能力強。但是大多數(shù)學(xué)生自我意識強、人際交往困惑、不寬容、價值觀不明確,甚至個別同學(xué)存在自卑,學(xué)習(xí)知識不扎實,不

2、能主動地去學(xué)習(xí)。部分學(xué)生懶于動腦、動手,不愿意在課堂發(fā)言或和同學(xué)用英語交流,不能踏實地學(xué)習(xí)。 【Teaching type】 Revision and application 【Teaching aims】 Knowledge objective To integrate instructions on self-protection and first aid in disasters or accidents. Be able to write simple instructions about what to do in an accident or disaster.

3、 To make a poster about preventing accidents at school using must/mustn’t and imperative sentences. Ability objective Enable students to listen to, read and talk about accidents and disasters. Be able to revise instructions through pair work. Moral objective Learn to listen to others' opinions

4、. Pay attention to the risk of accidents in daily life and be brave to face the accidents and disasters. Develop the good characters of helping others and working as a team. Develop the sense of self-protection. 【Teaching importance】 To write instructions on self-protection in disasters or acc

5、idents by using imperative sentences and must/mustn’t. 【Teaching difficulties】 To make a poster about preventing accidents at school by using imperative sentences and must/mustn’t . 【Teaching methods】 Interactive approach, TPR teaching method. 【Teaching aids】 Multimedia and some pictures. 【Te

6、aching Procedures】 Step 1 Lead-in 1. Show the title of this lesson. 2. Show the main goals of this class. After the lesson, you are expected to... 1) write instructions about what to do in disasters(災(zāi)難) or accidents. 2) make a poster about preventing(阻止) accidents at school using must/must

7、n’t and imperative sentences. 4. Ask the students questions: Did you hurt yourself or have an accident at school? What happened? (設(shè)計意圖:通過師生討論,引入本課,同時回顧本模塊話題,引起學(xué)生注意。) Step 2 Revision & Presentation 1. Show a photo to the class and say: Can you help the boy who is lying on the ground ?

8、 2. Play a game to review the first aid instructions which we have learnt in Unit1. 3. Check the answers one by one and explain the difficult ones to make sure they know how to make suggestions and instructions on first aid. (設(shè)計意圖:游戲方式復(fù)習(xí)U1學(xué)到的急救知識相關(guān)的建議、指示,既是復(fù)習(xí)也是為本堂課的語言輸出做準(zhǔn)備。) Ste

9、p 3 Revision & Practice 1. Lead the students to think of what to do during the disaster by looking at the mind map of timeline. 2. Ask them to think about what to do in this condition: If there is an earthquake, you should/must/mustn’t... 3. Arouse the students’ sense of self-protection in disa

10、sters by watching the pictures and guessing what to do in an earthquake. 4. Lead the students to act out the instruction by using the teaching method : Total Physical Response. T: Hide under a table. 5. Lead the students to help more people learn about self-protection by making a poster.

11、 6. Show a picture of a poster to the class and make sure they know what is a poster. 7. Enable the students to finish the poster about self-protection instructions in an earthquake by completing the sentences. And elicit answers from the class in full sentences. (1)Inside

12、 1) hide under a table 2) stay away from windows and heavy furniture. 3) leave the building quickly when the ground stops shaking. 4) do not use the lift. 5) do not jump out of high buildings. (2) Lead the students to understand imperative sentences and know the sentence structure: V...;Do n

(設(shè)計意圖:引導(dǎo)同學(xué)們復(fù)習(xí)U2學(xué)到的在地震發(fā)生時的自救措施和相關(guān)注意事項,同時轉(zhuǎn)換祈使句為含有must/mustn’t的句子。為本堂課的語言輸出做準(zhǔn)備。) Step 4 Reading 1. Ask the students one question: Do you know more disasters? 2. Brainstorm the names of natural disasters by asking the stud

15、ents to say them in English or Chinese. 3. Show some pictures of natural disasters to the class. And tell them how to say them in English. 4. Lead the students to read a passage about another natural disaster on Page 102. 5. Demand them to observe the photo first and guess the disaster.

16、 6. Provide the students with 3 minutes to answer the questions: What happened? What did the girl do? How did the teacher feel? 7. Elicit the answers from the class one by one and lead them to think about two more questions: How did the girl save the people? Why did she know it was a tsunami?

17、 8. Check the answers together with the class. (設(shè)計意圖:引導(dǎo)學(xué)生根據(jù)不同的實際情況給出恰當(dāng)?shù)陌踩ㄗh,提高學(xué)生的閱讀能力、自我保護能力和應(yīng)變能力。) Step 5 Consolidation& Extension 1. Lead the students to know we can do some prevention before the accidents. And show them the mind map to understand the timeline clearly. 2. Ask the st

18、udents one question: What accidents can happen at school? 3. Brainstorm the names of accidents which can happen at school by asking the students to say them in English or Chinese. 4. Show a mind map of accidents at school to the class and also show them some photos of accidents. 5. Ask the stude

19、nts one more question: What must/mustn’t we do to prevent the accident? 6. Divide the class into five groups to discuss the accidents and take some notes. 7. Let each group choose one accident to discuss. 8. Share some groups’ ideas with the class. (設(shè)計意圖:文本輸出前的一個鋪墊,為學(xué)生們搭建語言、寫作支架,更好地引導(dǎo)學(xué)生

20、們來繪制海報。) 9. Encourage the students to make a poster. And give them some useful tips: Write a title(How to Prevent Fire…). Write the instructions. Work as a team and help each other. 10. Provide the students with some materials such as colorful stickers ,pictures and a large piece of paper. 11.

21、 Students will have 8 minutes to make the poster. Teacher gives help if possible. 12. Stick the students’ posters on the blackboard and present it to the rest of the class. (設(shè)計意圖:培養(yǎng)學(xué)生借助思維導(dǎo)圖進行寫作及學(xué)習(xí),加強學(xué)習(xí)方法指導(dǎo)。) Step 7 Moral education Develop the students’ sense of self-protection. It’s important

23、 to learn some first aid instructions. Protect yourself and help others. Helping others is helping ourselves. Think of danger and prepare for the worst. (設(shè)計意圖:加強安全教育,提醒學(xué)生們應(yīng)更好地保護自我,學(xué)習(xí)急救、自救措施。同時對本課進行情感升華。) Step 8 Homework Encourage the students to choose one task or both to finish.
